Jamie Townsend

I decided to build a new website because I wanted to share my thoughts on everything I am passionate about, be it my journey through parenthood or something cool I have built or found in the ever evolving world of a Web Developer.

For the past three years I have been developing using ASP.NET Web Forms but I decided to learn ASP.NET MVC 3, a few weekends later, lots of coffee and the new website built in MVC 3 was born.

The website consists of a bespoke Blogging system with full search and administration. The gaps are filled with my latest tweet, a selection of some of my favourite and inspirational quotes and a little bit of information about me; it is my site after all :)

I was approached by Ridgway Children's Services to help bring their static website to life and help them manage the content themselves.

Previously all changes were made in HTML and then uploaded, this was a painfully long process. I created a news management system allowing them to add latest news, a job vacancy system and an Identification checking system which people could use to check the ID of a member of staff. All controlled in an administration area.
