About Me

Hi my name is Jamie Townsend; I was born on the 18th November 1984 which makes me currently 26 years old. I am a self taught ASP.NET developer living in Cheltenham and currently working for Aqua Intelligence.

I have a beautiful daughter called Jennifer who was born on April 22 2010. She has completely changed my life, for the better of course! Nothing could have prepared me for how hard but very rewarding being a parent can be. Every day I wake up and think I am the luckiest man alive to have such a perfect little lady. It makes getting up in the mornings a little easier knowing I am going to work to provide for her future and seeing her face when I walk in the house after work. She has the most beautifulest smile.

My web development career started back in 2005 when I started using Classic ASP; it was not until 2006 that I got my first commercial experience. Working for Dibor UK, an online e-commerce company based near Leeds as the head of IT and systems development. I created a bespoke e-commerce website and a backend ERP system to handle everything from online orders to warehouse packaging and shipment tracking systems.

In 2008 I moved to a company called Montpellier Interactive based in my hometown Cheltenham as a Senior Developer. I solely created a bespoke content management system that turned out to be a big part of the company’s future, still in use today. It was at Montpellier that I began using ASP.NET.

Which brings me to where I am today, working for Aqua Intelligence as a senior developer. Building sales incentive and marketing tools for some of the world’s most prestigious companies, such as Jaguar, Land Rover and Mercedes-Benz amongst others.
